David has an extensive and distinguished career in asset-based finance and commercial credit having held management and executive positions with major Canadian Trusts, Banks, and Insurance Providers. As an entrepreneur he helped lead a management buyout at Tuckahoe Leasing and as its CFO helped with the company’s turnaround and eventual sale to Textron Financial, now a unit of GE Capital. David was the founder of a commercial finance company that he eventually sold to The CIT Group, and then became its Canadian President and CEO. David later joined Arif at Pinnacle Capital where he helped finance high-growth companies.
David is a Certified Management Accountant, a Certified Corporate Director, and was on the Board and Investment Committee of the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan. David is also a past Governor of the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario.
David received a Doctorate of Business Administration from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, and a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Arif’s entrepreneurial experience includes the founding, managing, and selling of companies in the retail automotive and computer services industries early on in his career. Later, Arif became a major shareholder and director of a large Canadian construction contractor that he helped turnaround and eventually sell. He parlayed his successful business experience into co-founding Pinnacle Capital, an early stage and specialty venture capital firm that has a prestigious track record investing its own money and advising on over $100 Million in third-party funds. Arif led the firm’s investments in both high-growth and out-of-favour sectors within several industries including telecommunications, media, technology, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, energy, and financial services.
Arif serves as a member of the CFA Institute, the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, the Turnaround Management Association, the Alternative investment Management Association, and the Portfolio Management Association of Canada. He is also a Director of the Commercial Finance Association.
Arif received a Master of Business Administration from the Queen’s School of Business, completed post-graduate studies at Harvard Business School, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Dev is responsible for deal origination, due diligence, structuring and closing, investment monitoring and servicing, workouts, harvests, and exits.
Previously Dev was a Managing Partner of Royal Bank Capital Partners’ private equity investments in telecom, a Vice President in Royal Bank’s global TMT credit risk management group, senior research analyst at several boutiques, and a team leader in Deloitte’s management consulting group. Earlier, Dev worked as projects manager for turnkey engineering contracts in overseas markets.
Dev holds a B. Eng (Mechanical) from University of Bombay and an MBA (Finance) from University of Saskatchewan. He is a Professional Engineer and a Certified Management Consultant.
Brian leads Third Eye Capital’s finance, treasury, and accounting functions, and is responsible for performance analysis, liquidity and cash management, financial reporting, internal controls, and portfolio accounting.
Previously, Brian was a Controller at Mark Asset Management and the VP Accounting at Plainfield Asset Management responsible for the accounting of their private lending fund. He was also a senior auditor at Ernst & Young in the investment fund practice.
Brian holds an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant, and Certified Fraud Examiner.
Mark is responsible for deal origination, due diligence, structuring and closing, investment monitoring and servicing, workouts, harvests, and exits.
Previously Mark was a Vice President at Catalyst Capital Group focused on event driven and special situations investing. Prior to that, Mark worked for BlueCrest Capital Management as a senior Analyst in their Special Situations Fund, focusing on growth and turnaround financing.
Mark holds a Masters in Business Administration from the London Business School
Belle oversees all corporate and securities legal and compliance matters. Belle has 20 years of experience in the investment management industry. She was enforcement and policy counsel at IIROC, acted as head of legal and compliance at PIMCO Canada, was senior manager legal and corporate compliance at BMO, and counsel at TD Asset Management.
Belle graduated with a Bachelor of Common Law and a Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University and was called to the Ontario and Quebec Bar in 1997. She obtained her Masters of Securities Law from York University (Osgoode Hall) in 2003.
Belle sits on the AIMA Canada Board and serves as co-chair of the AIMA Operations and Compliance Committee. Belle is a fellow of ICSA, has completed the Directors Education Program and acts as Chief Examiner. Belle also completed the Fellow in Governance Board program of CBDC.
Talel is responsible for deal origination, due diligence, structuring and closing, investment monitoring and servicing, workouts, harvests, and exits.
Previously, Talel was President of Achrisia Amériques Inc., a financing consultancy firm he founded in 2007, focused on private equity, alternative debt and special situation investments. He was formerly a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Financial Services and Natural Resources teams at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), one of Canada’s largest pension funds. Talel was also the Head of Corporate Banking at the brokerage division of Industrial Alliance, the third largest financial institution in Quebec.
Talel is a CFA Charterholder and received a Masters of Science in Management (majoring in Finance) from HÉC Montreal.
Chris manages Third Eye Capital’s investor relationships, including wholesalers, investment advisors, and sub-advisory mandates in Canada and with offshore institutional accounts.
Chris has held senior marketing roles at various hedge funds and investment firms. He previously helped establish and grow the Western Canadian wholesale business of Trimark, one of the country’s largest investment companies.
Chris received a Masters of Business Administration from the Queen’s School of Business.
